SUPPORT FOR ORGANISATIONS

Hull & East Yorkshire's only registered charity for dyslexia.

Support for Organisations

Dyslexia Sparks’ mission is to support dyslexic individuals in overcoming any barriers to success and to enable them in making valued contributions to the world around them, including the world of work.

At least 1 in 10 people are believed to be dyslexic, with current estimations suggesting the number could be as high as 1 in 5. And for adults at work, dyslexia can present challenges which might not be obvious to those around them. Dyslexic individuals are often great problem-solvers, which means they find ways to overcome their difficulties – this can lead to an employer not being aware of underlying difficulties they might be facing. But it’s crucial that dyslexic individuals are supported in the right ways so that they can use their strengths at work and achieve their potential.

To support organisations, Dyslexia Sparks can carry out diagnostic assessments for employees to identify dyslexia, highlight areas of strength, and provide workplace training to help managers and other employees understand dyslexia better. For employees needing a more specific understanding of how dyslexia affects them at work, and what adjustments and support might be put in place, workplace needs assessments are available.
