Are you worried about your child experiencing the dreaded ‘summer slide’?

Join Dyslexia Sparks for an online workshop which aims to support your child’s learning through the summer break. Our guidance is designed to equip parents and caregivers with the tools and activities to keep minds and hands active to prevent learning loss during the summer.

Led by Samantha Buttle, Dyslexia Sparks’ Head of Teaching and Learning, this webinar will cover essentials such as:

  • Exploring the importance of maintaining skills they’ve developed during the school year.
  • Regular reading practice – making time for reading in those busy summer days. Whether it’s reading traditional books, listening to stories or joining national reading challenges, any practice will benefit your child and help build their vocabulary.
  • Supporting handwriting development with games and activities you can do in everyday family life.
  • Spelling exploration games to do at home or on family days out.
  • Practical tips and techniques to keep young minds and memories active throughout the summer weeks developing comprehension skills.
  • Keeping it fun – creating desirable activities will encourage a love of learning for your child’s future development.

The webinar is aimed at parents and caregivers of primary school children who are interested in activities for learning through the summer to keep children practicing their skills and developing further throughout the break.

Let’s keep the learning momentum going all summer long! 🚀📖

Places are free but limited and must be booked in advance. A recording of the session will be sent to all registered attendees after the event.
