And how these can be supported?

Join Dyslexia Sparks’ free online support session

Thursday 15th September 10-11am

for a special focus on dyspraxia and dysgraphia and how these can be supported through physiotherapy.

The role of the physiotherapist in dysgraphia and dyspraxia’ will be of interest to any parents/carers and teachers wanting to gain an understanding of dysgraphia and dyspraxia, the signs that can indicate a child is dyspraxic or dysgraphic, and how physiotherapy can help.

The session will be led by Chartered Physiotherapist, Victoria Brattan. With over 22 years’ experience, Victoria specialises in expert children’s physiotherapy for ages 0-18, offering home visits and clinic-based appointments. During the session Victoria will cover

  • the signs and symptoms of dysgraphia – a condition that affects handwriting
  • the signs and symptoms of dyspraxia (also known as Developmental Coordination Disorder) – a learning difficulty that affects physical coordination and movement
  • what is involved in physiotherapy assessments for dysgraphia and dyspraxia
  • how physiotherapy can support dysgraphia and dyspraxia

Dyslexia Sparks is Hull and East Yorkshire’s only registered charity for dyslexia and associated specific learning difficulties. The session is held as part of our free, monthly online parent support group which often features particular topics and guest speakers.

Places are free but limited and must be booked in advance to receive the online meeting link to join live. All registered attendees will automatically receive a recording of the session – so if you can’t join live, you can watch on catch up.
