After ten years of dedicated leadership, our Founding Director and CEO, Jane Craig, has made the decision to step down from her role. Over the past decade, Jane’s vision, passion and commitment have established Dyslexia Sparks as a trusted source of specialist support for children, young people and adults with dyslexia. Under her leadership, the charity has grown significantly, supporting thousands of individuals, families, schools and organisations through specialist assessments, tuition, advocacy and training.
”At the heart of Sparks is a genuine care for dyslexic and neurodiverse learners, and helping so many people to grow and thrive is something I will forever feel proud of, and grateful for. However, now is the time for me to move on from Sparks and allow someone new to bring their skills, experience and a new perspective to the leadership of the charity.
While this marks the end of an important chapter in the charity’s history, it also signals the beginning of an exciting new one. We are delighted to announce that Samantha Buttle has been appointed as Interim Chief Executive, effective 1 August. Samantha has been a part of the organisation since its inception and is our current Head of Teaching and Learning. Her extensive experience, deep understanding of our mission and values, and long-standing commitment to our service users made her exceptionally well placed to lead the organisation into this next chapter.

We would like to take this opportunity to reassure all of our supporters, parents and students that Dyslexia Sparks remains fully committed to providing the delivery of high quality support for children, young people and adults with dyslexia. Our priority is to provide much needed specialist assessments and tuition, as well as vital educational support to schools and organisations. Samantha said:
”I’m excited about the future of Sparks and building upon the great work Jane has already done. Being dyslexic myself gives me the passion to drive this organisation forward and secure a smooth transition of leadership.

The past 10 years have brought me so much joy and I’ve worked hard to continue the support and services we offer. I have treasured the feedback we’ve been sent from clients old and new – knowing that we’re impacting people’s lives really is an honour.
I want to take this opportunity to wish Sam every success in her new position as CEO, and am confident that the unique strengths, fresh ideas, and passion Sam will bring to the role will continue to help the charity thrive and make a lasting impact.
