Would you like your child to get a head start on managing the move to secondary school?

Year 6 students are invited to join our free workshop, designed specifically to help support with the transition from primary school.

Dyslexia Sparks is partnering with specialist wellbeing and SEND consultancy team Life Skills Hub to offer a workshop especially for Sparky Students who are due to start secondary school.

The workshop Tackling Transition Worries: Primary to Secondary School will be held after school, Thursday 17th June, 5-6pm, at Life Skills Hub’s new therapeutic centre in Cottingham.

Led by Life Skills Hub wellbeing practitioners the session will offer advice, support and guidance around the transition to secondary school. The interactive discussion will cover:

  • support and tips around managing change

  • what to expect with the move to secondary school

  • how to manage anxiety

  • tools and strategies for coping with new situations

Places are free but very limited and will be offered on a first come first served basis.

The session will be held at Life Skills Hub 164a Hallgate, Cottingham, HU16 4YD.

A small carpark is available on site with further free parking available close by and students can be accompanied by a parent.
