Supporting our community through local events to inform, impact and inspire.

Dyslexia Awareness Week provided Sparks with the perfect opportunity to host two events to support families trying to navigate dyslexia. We held both side by side, a coffee morning for parents and carers, plus a creative workshop for children.

The coffee morning group talked about their journey as parent of a dyslexia child. They were able to share stories, and offer advice and guidance to others navigating the same hurdles. The Sparks team were on hand to give specialist advice and showcase what services we can offer to support them going forward.

While the group were enjoying hot drinks and treats (kindly donated by the Dyslexia Sparks team), the children were able to take part in a creative session held by ScrapStore Hull.

This was not your average art session โ€“ the children unleashed their imagination with a hands-on workshop, where they turned unconventional everyday objects and materials into extraordinary works of art.

The relaxed session allowed them to explore their skills, talk about what they enjoyed and take the time to look upon themselves positively with other dyslexic learners. The results were incredible, thank you to all those that came to support our charity.
