Does your child struggle with anxiety particularly in relation to change? Would you like a better understanding of how to support your child in building resilience? As well as how to help your child manage anxiety and better adapt to change?

Join Dyslexia Sparks’ free online support session – Thursday 15th April 10-11am – for a special focus on children’s mental wellbeing.

This session will be of interest to any parents/carers and teachers wanting to gain an understanding of how to support children’s mental wellbeing in relation to managing change and building resilience.

This focus is particularly timely with children experiencing significant changes to education routines as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Led by Dyslexia Sparks’ Founding Director, Jane Craig, the session will feature guest speakers from Life Skills Hub: a specialist wellbeing and SEND consultancy team. Natasha Tomlinson and Luke Cardwell, Directors of Life Skills Hub, will discuss:

  • strategies for helping children to manage change

  • how to help children manage anxiety – particularly in relation to change

  • supporting children to build resilience

  • details of the new Life Skills Hub therapeutic centre in Cottingham and how you can access this.

Dyslexia Sparks is Hull and East Yorkshire’s only registered charity for dyslexia and associated specific learning difficulties. The session is held as part of our free, monthly online parent support group which often features particular topics and guest speakers.

Places are free but limited and must be booked in advance to receive the online meeting link.
