We recently held our much-anticipated Student Awards Day ā€˜The Greatest Sparkā€™, an event dedicated to honouring the outstanding achievements of our Sparks students and also the accomplishments of our charity throughout the past year.

A moment for recognition and celebration

The awards day ‘The Greatest Spark’ was a great success, showcasing amazing talents and remarkable skills from ā€˜Dedicationā€™ to ā€˜Improved Independenceā€™. This special day was inspiring for those involved, and brought together students, families, educators, and our extended community. All our Sparks have set a high standard to aspire for next year and the potential they all hold.

The awards began with our Founding Director Jane Craig displaying the progression of the Dyslexia Sparks team in the past year. Our staff increase from 5 to 8 has given greater capacity for free events, dyslexia awareness sessions and training, and increased assessments and tuition appointments.

A display of talent

One of the highlights of our annual event was the inspiring talent show, where young individuals showcased their diverse and impressive skills. From vibrant baton twirling routines, captivating displays of art, and impressive flag recognition. The talent show was a testament to the creativity and passion of our young participants. Our winners received a trophy and a medal along with all of the contestants for entering.

Awarding progression and individual successes

Dyslexia Sparks recognise every student we work with and each of their unique journeys. Weā€™ve seen some incredible progress over the last year, students attending the Greatest Spark received a certificate highlighting the achievements they have made with a personalised recognition speech from their tutor. Examples include ā€˜Eagerness to Learnā€™, ā€˜Self Beliefā€™, ā€˜Long-Term Commitmentā€™ and ā€˜Meticulousā€™.

The role of our generous sponsors at ‘The Greatest Spark’

This event would not have been possible without the generous support of our business sponsors. Their contributions have not only helped to celebrate student achievements, but have also raised Ā£1,000 which will be making a new student library in the coming year.
