Our Story
Hull and East Yorkshire’s Only Registered Dyslexia Charity
Supporting Dyslexia Since 2016
Dyslexia Sparks was founded in 2016 with a mission to support dyslexic individuals across Hull and East Yorkshire. It quickly became a leading provider of specialist dyslexia support in the region, offering highly experienced assessors and tutors alongside a range of extended wraparound services.
The charity was born out of a passion for helping people reach their potential and find their inner SPARK. It’s built on many years’ experience of understanding the barriers dyslexic individuals face, and a desire to ensure they can overcome them.
Samantha Buttle, Interim CEO
”Families are at the heart of everything we do. My priority is to continue delivering the high-quality, person-centred support that people know and trust from Dyslexia Sparks. Over the last ten years we've built something incredibly special. We've supported so many people to better understand dyslexia, realise their potential and help them to achieve their goals. I'm excited about what comes next for the charity.
Adapting, Growing & Moving Forward
As the demand for our services has developed, we’ve made changes so that we can continue providing high quality support, including moving premises. Starting our journey at Hull CVS on Beverley Road, we most recently relocated to Dunston House on Livingstone Road in Hessle – providing us with calm and welcoming spaces to deliver our services.  Over the years we’ve expanded our team and our services with experienced staff, and continue to strive to provide the best possible support for our community.
