Tailored Dyslexia Support to Meet Your School's Needs
School Dyslexia Services
Dyslexia Sparks offers a comprehensive range of dyslexia services for schools, supporting teachers across all education settings. Services include parent coffee mornings, CPD via dyslexia training, awareness sessions, dyslexia assessments and engaging pupil workshops and assemblies. We’re here to support your school’s needs every step of the way.
Teacher Training
Our training empowers teachers to help identify dyslexic pupils and equips them with practical strategies to support learners in the classroom. Training can be tailored to meet the specific needs of your school. Our courses can be completed during term time or the school holidays, and all attendees receive a certificate confirming their CPD hours.
Dyslexia Assessments
Parent Coffee Mornings
We offer dedicated support for parents and families through school coffee mornings which we can join or host for you. These sessions provide a welcoming space to learn about dyslexia, explore support services available, and gain practical guidance.
Workshops & Assemblies
We deliver age-appropriate class workshops and school assemblies that raise awareness of dyslexia. Sessions help children gain a deeper understanding, build empathy, and leave with a fresh perspective on how people with dyslexia see the world.
Assistive Tech Loan Scheme
Our charity loans out assistive technology to support dyslexic pupils in schools, a great way to develop learners’ independence in reading and studying. This includes Scanning Pens that read printed text aloud and offer features like wireless headphone connectivity and built-in dictionaries. We also provide handheld OrCam devices that capture text, generate summaries, and offer reading support. We are now also offering Yoto Minis – read-aloud devices – which improve listening and language skills.

FAQs
What qualifications and experience do your trainers have?
Our dyslexia training is delivered by Level 7 dyslexia specialists who each have over 10 years’ experience of working with dyslexic learners across a range of settings.
Are your team DBS checked?
Yes, we make sure all of our team members have an enhanced DBS certificate and have completed a minimum of Level 2 safeguarding training.
How does a screener differ to a formal dyslexia assessment?
A dyslexia screener provides an initial indication of potential difficulties, flagging possible signs of dyslexia to suggest that further investigation is needed. Often, they are carried out on the computer and take around 10-30 minutes to complete, In contrast, a dyslexia assessment is a formal, comprehensive evaluation which takes around 2-3 hours, conducted by a qualified professional, which takes into account background information, observations and assessment data, and provides a diagnosis and a detailed cognitive profile, including specific recommendations for support.
Are your school services free?
Our charity helps fund the work we do with schools, allowing us to offer some services for free, such as attending coffee mornings, delivering workshops, and leading assemblies. Our assistive technology loan scheme is supported by grant funding, meaning schools can access valuable pupil support for a reduced termly fee. Our teacher training and dyslexia assessments are charged services, although fees are heavily subsidised to ensure they remain affordable, and on occasion we have additional funding available to further support with costs. Please speak with the team about any services you may need.
