We’re still smiling after our awards presentation at the end of year community event.

Our annual awards presentation took place on Sunday, an event which has become such an important moment in the Dyslexia Sparks calendar. It’s a chance to bring our community together: learners, families, staff, and supporters all in one place, celebrating the progress and achievements of our incredible young people.

Highlighting Progress and Achievements

Something all the team look forward to is recognising the hard work and dedication students put into tuition throughout the year. The team present awards for categories such as Outstanding Achievement, Improved Confidence, Eagerness to Learn and Longstanding Commitment.

At Sparks we believe improving confidence is a key factor in learning and rewarding each child helps them to feel recognised. They remind us all why celebrating small (and big!) wins can make a lasting difference.

Thank You to Our Supporters

We’re thrilled to share that the community event raised nearly £1,300 which will go towards our charity projects next year. This includes the Sparks Book Project, which provides free books to dyslexic learners in our local community.

Thanks to our generous sponsors and supporters who helped make this event such a success – we truly couldn’t have done it without you. Special thanks go to our main sponsors, Becoming 360 and Active Systems Group Ltd, for their incredible support.

We’re also grateful to our award sponsors (Andrew & Rogers Optometrists, Transwaste Recycling & Aggregates Ltd, Mick Jordon Construction, Spike’s Sight Words, CATCH Apprenticeships) and the many local shops, retailers and families who donated fantastic prizes to our raffle and tombola.

To everyone who came along and donated, thank you.

A Statement From Our Founding Director

“This year, the charity has gone from strength to strength — expanding our board and team to meet growing demand and broaden our impact. We’ve worked hard to increase access to our much-needed specialist tuition, supporting students post-assessment, while also raising awareness of our mission.

Looking ahead, we aim to strengthen our partnerships with schools and help them better understand and support their learners’ needs. As our community continues to grow, our free webinars and workshops are becoming an increasingly vital resource.”

Here’s to a well-earned summer and even more exciting things to come!
